12.14.2021 Portfolio Update (Weekly Edition)
Topics for this Week: Portfolio Update, Portfolio Discussion, Looking into $SSSS, Shout-outs, and Weekly Munchies.
Hello everyone!
I decided that future posts I will still keep subtitle for “Topics for this week” while adding a quote as a icebreaker.
For this week’s quote:
“We’re not smart enough to dance with all the dances.” - Chuck Akre

Portfolio Discussion
Not much has changed since last week, I don’t really pay attention too much to macro stuff (except that I know nothing good is happening yet in the world) I have been adding to $TWTR $SPOT $WWE $IAC $CVS and $SSSS (on $SSSS more later on)
If you are $TWTR shareholder I highly recommend listening to below episode from The Razor’s Edge
If you are $CVS shareholder and haven’t looked into CVS Health® Investor Day 2021, I highly recommend you do!
Looking into $SSSS
$SSSS or SuRo Capital Corp is an investment arm of Global Silicon Valley. Suro went through a few nameSuRo Capital, formerly Sutter Rock Capital and GSV Capital, is a Nasdaq-listed BDC designed to provide access to high-growth, venture- capital-backed emerging private companies changes (formerly known as GSV Capital and Sutter Rock Capital)
Elevator Pitch:
SuRo Capital is a public VC that invests in private companies and exits them after they go public via IPOs or SPACs. If/when private company is exited successfully (by Suro) SuRo usually keeps some capital for future projects and gives back the rest via two options 1) more shares in $SSSS at full dividend distribution amount or 2) pays out dividend at a lessor amount (shareholders decide for themselves what they want).
They have already successfully exited Palantir and looking to do so with many others, one caveat is OZY due to allegations.
I’m currently holding 1 share as a tracker, while I’m doing more research.
Shout-outs
I want to do a quick shot-out to five substacks that I enjoy reading on daily/weekly basis.
In no particular order:
Ayesha releases her free The Weekend Edition (well on the weekends) with the most important news/numbers from the week before.
Simon does portfolio updates with this thoughts/deep dives/book reviews and I really enjoy reading his newsletter, its free and I highly recommend reading:
To get to know him better!
Conor runs Investment Talk that has both paid and free posts (I am paid subscriber but even if you are not ready to become one his free posts will be worth your time) especially weekend edition (different from what Ayesha does) of “Market Talk” and “Personal Writings” like the one below:
Next one is
Contrarian Investor does things different! Every day CI releases audio (ad free!) preview of the day’s market activities, looking only at the important stuff.
Finally, Chit Chat Money (which is ran by Brett and Ryan) is (again) a weekend read but does NOT usually crosses with the other two. It’s full of thoughts, links, and interesting tweets!
